Hello all and welcome to my little corner
of cyberspace! First, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Blake
Burton, I am 19 years old and from Deer Park, Texas which is right outside of Houston!
As of August 2000, however, I am now a resident of Humble, Texas - just northeast of Houston - and am attending the San Jac College as a Computer Science major! I hope to transfer to UT Austin in the Spring of 2002, though! In my spare time, I enjoy clogging, basketball, and being with my friends! =)
Speaking of my friends, many of them have webpages as well, so feel free to check some of these out! Let's see, there's Erin, Nicole, Adam, Annie, Rachel, and Kendra! Keep in mind, these are the only ones that I have, but that doesn't mean I can't put any more on here! If you have a page you would like me to add, e-mail me and I'll be happy to stick you on here!
|A very important part of my life is my girlfriend, Crystal. She attends the University of Texas in Austin, also as a Computer Science major! Her and I have been dating since February 12, 2000, and not a day goes by that I do not thank God for her love and support! She is my best friend, and I love her VERY much. I think I actually learned how to clog before I learned how to walk! Okay, not really, but it seems that way to me! I started when I was three years old, which means I've done it for a little over 14 years now. For those of you who don't know what clogging is, the best way I can put it is, it is a type of percussive dancing, somewhat similar to tap, only more upbeat and competitive. If you STILL don't know what it is, then go here. Kelli explains it a little better than I just did!
Anywho, although I live in Tyler, I
am still trying to clog with my team back in Houston called the Yellow
Rose Cloggers. We have about 40 or so members, and our main
purpose is to just have fun by doing something that we love. That's
what a hobby is anyway, right? My team is like my family, and there is not
one member that I would not do anything
Every year I try to get more and more involved in the clogging world. Summer 1999, I was asked to go along with 9 other cloggers from the Arizona Pride team to represent the USA at a world folk dance festival in Poland! That alone was easily the greatest honor I have ever received, not only because I got the opportunity to go to Poland, but because I was able to clog along side of, who I think, are some of the best cloggers in the nation! Here are some pictures from the Poland trip!
Well, that is pretty much it for now. I understand that
my webpage is probably a little too "wordy" but keep in mind that I am in
the process of updating it. However, I would appreciate any ideas or
suggestions you might have to make it better, so if you do, please e-mail me! Also, if you have time,
My Slambook. Thanks! =)
